IS IT JUST ME?

I’ve been laughing at myself lately – chuckling discreetly about my idiosyncrasies. I have quite a few! Turning 60 was liberating but humbling all at once – as is the fact that things change but stay the same simultaneously. For example, I’m definitely wiser at 60, more relaxed and settled, but I’m just as silly as ever! I look for reasons to laugh and I sometimes perform shows for my hubby making fun of myself. But is it just me? Seriously. IS IT??
I’ll share my top 5 idiosyncrasies, as crazy as they may seem to see if you can relate. I’ll start with the least and build to the worse one that I really Really REALLY can’t handle.
I can’t leave home without making the bed. I feel like making it gives me the first opportunity to control what’s going to happen in my life that day. Plus, who knows what nasty smelly dust particles may land on my sheets if they’re exposed and then latch on to my body at night! I quiver at the thought!
2.I can't leave home if the house isn’t top-notch clean. My home centers and calms me and different areas of my home provide a different ambiance that influences my mood. Plus, as an interior decorator, homebyseven, I wouldn’t dare go and decorate/design for someone else and then walk back into a house of chaos and junk! So disrespectful to SELF!
Can’t have dirty clothes to wash. I can’t imagine the bacterial shenanigans that erupt when dirty clothes are left festering in the hamper! The very thought is making me queasy! I wash every day. RELIGIOUSLY!
This one is really bad! I can’t use the same towel and/or wash cloth more than once. So I use approximately 3 towels and 3-6 washcloths daily. I use one set to shower each evening to greet my hubby, one set each morning to shower to greet the world, and one set during the day when I exercise. Are you with me? It just makes sense! Right? Just the thought of having the moisture on a towel or wash cloth from a previous shower touch my body again is repelling!! I think I’m getting sick! Physically sick!
This is the ABSOLUTE WORSE!!! I can’t use the same toothbrush more than once. So I use 2-3 daily. Just the thought of placing the remnants of bacteria from the last use in my mouth, even after spraying the tooth brush with hydrogen peroxide is EXEEDINGLY GROSS!
So I ask YOU, my beloved reader, is it just me? IS IT?? So far, I’ve come to the healthy conclusion that yes…itzjustme! Pun intended!
