DUST OFF! GET UP AND RISE!
DUST OFF! GET UP AND RISE!

It was a tough week. In fact, last Tuesday I mentally and physically collapsed. I stayed nestled on my couch downstairs from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. only rising for bathroom breaks and breakfast and lunch prepared by my hubby. I’m not exactly sure what the issue was, but I will admit that this new group transition home does take its toll on me.

That evening, I showered and went to a weekly spiritual meeting that lifted me up a bit. Still, I returned home and found myself nestled again in what could best be described as our downstairs bunker. It literally feels like an underground shelter that prevents sounds of any kind from the main floor upstairs from entering. It's peaceful with an ambiance of neutral colors that is relaxing.

The remainder of the week was filled with challenges and unprecedented issues surrounding some of our mental health residents. I’m in it to win it – but honestly, if it weren’t for my brother, I’d dust off, get up and rise on to the next opportunity of interest.

Really, shouldn’t we all be doing that when our current circumstances don’t gel with expected outcomes? Ask yourself…Do I betray my talents by settling because it’s just easier? Do I live in my lane of ordinary instead of respecting my identity? Do I make excuses for not being and giving my best? Try and try again to live with self-integrity and loyalty.
